ABOUT ME

Personal blog, Southern writer, non-fiction writing

I am a Christian, a Georgia gal, Southern writer, a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.  Daughter of a police officer and a homemaker, I learned that hard work, grit and loyalty help one succeed.  I am a polio survivor, and that act of surviving taught me to deal kindly with people with challenges.  I was an English major from a small, Southern women’s college, but I do admit, I like to now bend those very rules I worked so hard to learn.  But mostly, I am truly a “woman of her words.”  I have been fascinated with words all my life, and have been known to drag around or always be very close to a dictionary--and they usually had a red cover and binding.  This caused one friend to dub me the “Mistress of the Red Book.”  But I learned later in life just how much power those words can have.  I hope mine have the power to make you laugh, cry, think, reminisce and think of all the moments that mold our lives.
